Berlin – Stiftung Exilmuseum

Exilmuseum is currently located at its temporary headquarters. Ultimately, it will be relocated to the surroundings of the old Anhalter train station, when the designed museum building is finished. The main narrative of the institution focuses on the 1933-1945 years, when around half a million people had to leave Germany due to Nazi persecution, starting their journey from the Anhalter station. The Berlin museum of exile wants to tell the stories of people who had to face this fate, while building a bridge towards the present times and considering today’s experiences of migration, exile, and displacement.
